As of today, the number of people infected by the virus has surpassed those who were infected by SARS. At the time of writing this post, there are now 8,235 people that are confirmed to be infected with the virus. There is now also another person in America that has become infected.
Although it seems to be spreading faster and farther than SARS, it does not appear to be as fatal (2%) - thank God for that. The death rate, so far, is much lower than SARS (9.6%). It is currently in 22 different countries.
Those who know the Lord Jesus should not fear the illness like the unsaved, although precautions certainly need to be taken. Don't unnecessarily risk your health or the health of your loved ones. Pray for those who are currently infected.
Remember that God is still in control. He is not at all ignorant of the situation. If death should come to a child of God, remember that eternity is glorious! Thank God that He gives His own a sure salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ!
In closing, let me remind you of a couple of verses from Ps. 23:3,4: "He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
