Once Again, Stephen Hawking Says He Is an Atheist

Stephen Hawking, acclaimed to be one of the most brilliant men of our day, has come out once again confessing his position as an atheist. The reason, he says, is that science has all the answers.

This seems to be a rather odd statement because just a few months ago (January), he denied the existence of black holes – which he had long held to and taught. His own statements show the variations and revisions that are often necessary when it comes to science.

Since science is not exact – but continually changing – it is difficult to be able to say that you have the real or complete answer to any science-related issue. Hawking’s own statement about his religious beliefs made in 2007 show that he is not a complete (real) atheist when he says: "I believe the universe is governed by the laws of science. The laws may have been decreed by God, but God does not intervene to break the laws."

In comparison, the Bible has never needed revision or updating. While it is not a science textbook, it still is and always has been scientifically accurate whenever science is referred to in it. Nor has anyone ever proved it incorrect on any matter. While some have tried – they have always failed. This really isn't surprising since the Bible tells us this in Matthew 5:18: "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

The Bible also tells us that when people reject the Bible as the foundation of all truth that they will be "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" (2Timothy 3:7). In other words, how can a person really be considered wise if they outright reject the one source of truth that is infallible – the Bible!

Charles Darwin once said: "The impossibility of conceiving that this grand and wondrous universe, with our conscious selves, arose through chance, seems to me the chief argument for the existence of God."

Christians are not afraid of true science – where all the facts are considered. For more information about the scientific interpretation that is also Biblical, see the web pages at the Institute for Creation Research.

Earlier this morning, two jets crashed into the Pacific Ocean. Only one pilot has been rescued so far, and a search is taking place now for the other one.

Both planes were stationed on the USS Carl Vinson. The F/A-18C aircraft crashed near Wake Island, which is about 2,300 miles west of Hawaii.

An investigation into the crash has already been initiated, but details are not yet being released. The recovered pilot is in fair condition.

10 Arab Nations Support US Attacks on ISIS

9/11/2014

Secretary of State met with a number of Arab nations to discuss their possible support for US attacks on ISIS. The discussion also included the need to attack ISIS wherever it is – particularly in Iraq and Syria.

At the close of the meeting, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a statement was made showing their support for the air attacks on ISIS. That statement showed that the agreeing nations had a "shared commitment to stand united against the threat posed by all terrorism" – and it includes ISIS.

Russia continued to warn the US that it should not attack Syria. The reason given – rather hypocritically – was that it would be "an act of aggression" if it did not have the support of the UN.

10 Arab nations are in full support of the statement. They include: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

It is interesting that these nations want the US to fight for them. They all realize that ISIS is a threat to them now – or will be eventually. It is also interesting to see that there are several nations not in the list – at least not yet.

It seems like the Arab nations may be lining up and uniting, at least to some degree. Amazingly, there has not been much bragging from ISIS lately about how they will destroy America and Russia!

ISIS Forms New Cell Near El Paso, Says Sheriff

9/10/2014

Gary Painter, a local Sheriff near El Paso, Texas, says that he has received a notification that ISIS has formed a cell in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. This city is right across the Rio Grande River from El Paso.

If confirmed, it certainly proves that ISIS is trying to make inroads into the US and is not planning any good. Texas law enforcement officers are being told to watch for possible terrorist activity.

The Texas-Mexico borders are still very porous and are not at all guarded to protect the US from infiltrators coming through the area. Governor Rick Perry has been trying to get the President to increase border security.

While temporary attempts have been made to secure the borders, Perry says that 10 to 15 million illegal immigrants have entered the US through that state. They have come from as many as 75 different countries.

Sheriff Painter believes that powerful action needs to be taken immediately against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. This will enable the terrorist organization to be hurt at its source.

This
kind of news ought to remind every Christian that prayer is needed for our country. As you know, tomorrow is the anniversary of 9/11. May God protect us from evil and evil people.

Air Marshal Attacked with Syringe and Possibly Injected with Ebola

9/9/2014

While at the airport in Nigeria, a US air marshal was attacked with a syringe and its contents were injected into his arm. He was traveling with other air marshals and the syringe was quickly located, but the attacker escaped.

The actual contents of the syringe are unknown, but the air marshal is being treated like it may have been Ebola. He has arrived back in the US, was checked for symptoms at the airport and then moved into isolation at a hospital in Houston.

While he was still in Nigeria, the marshal talked with the US consulate and doctors. He also received some kind of medicine to help him if it was Ebola. Which medicine it was is unknown.

It is tragic that someone should actually attempt this. While it is not yet known whether it contained the Ebola virus or not, the thought of it shows evil intent. If it is Ebola, then this is terrorism and attempted murder. The Bible tells us that in the last days “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse” (II Timothy 3:13). Once again, the Bible is accurate and has never been proven wrong.

New Bill in Congress: Revoke US Citizenship of ISIS Members

9/8/2014

A Bill is now in Congress that aims to revoke the citizenship of any US citizen that joins ISIS. If it should become law, then American citizens who have a connection with ISIS are subject to losing their citizenship. This includes supporting them, fighting for them, or joining them.

The new Bill was introduced into Congress by Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas. The goal of the Bill is to help prevent terrorist acts upon US soil – simply by refusing them entrance back into the country.

People who have been trained under ISIS know terrorist tactics. They may use them against America since ISIS has openly threatened to destroy this country.

US to Send Military to Help with Ebola in Liberia

9/8/2014

The United States is going to send a military hospital with 25 beds to Liberia. The unit will be used to provide care for those health workers who become infected with Ebola.

The Pentagon has said that the hospital costs about $22 million, and it is being supplied to answer the request for help by the U.S. Agency for International Development. This agency is directing the efforts of the US in helping to control the Ebola outbreak.

Once the hospital is built, the Pentagon says, it will be turned over to the Nigerians. US military personnel will not be treating Ebola patients.

WHO has made it known that the time to control the Ebola outbreak is now. Waiting much longer will be much more expensive and it will definitely spread to more nations – including the US. There is also the possibility, President Obama said, that it could mutate and become more easily spread.
