"For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over: That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever."
These two verses reveal that God wants to demonstrate His power in the lives of His people so that others may see them and come to know God for themselves. God never intended Christian believers to stay isolated from society.
As you walk with God and stay close to Him, circumstances will come into your life which you can try to handle yourself or you can bring it to God and let Him handle it for you. Those who let God take care of these matters can see Him do miracles. He is glad to show His power to those who trust Him: "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him" (II Chr. 16:9).
Letting God handle your life circumstances will also enable you to have peace and joy throughout the new year. Of course, you do have a part in some things, but always bring it to God first in prayer and He will guide you - as He promised: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Pr. 3:5,6).
