One place where it is prophesied is in Isaiah 9:6,7. Those verses start out with a unique description of the One Who will reign: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder." While it is easy to quickly read over these words and miss their meaning, their significance cannot be overlooked. They reveal that while a child will be born that will become the Ruler of all, it also indicates that the "son" is not born at that time. The verse says that the "son is given."
The "son," of course, speaks of the eternal Christ, the One Who is the "Word" in John 1:1. There, the "Word" is said to have always been with the Father, and that the "Word" is God: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
This future King, which is Christ, is given five different names. All of them point to the Divine nature of this King: "and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Since all of the Bible was inspired by God, these names are not an accident or oversight. They indicate without question that Jesus is God - for if He was not, these names would be blasphemous.
Verse 7 tells us a few more things about the nature of this Kingdom: "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
Although He once wore a shameful crown of thorns, it was so that God could show us how much He loved you and me. Since He will one day reign forever, it certainly makes sense to be sure that you are in His Kingdom now. His Kingdom is only for the righteous. No matter what your past has been, you can make certain that you will be included in that Kingdom. You only need to confess your sin and failure to live up to God's expectations and by asking Christ into your heart and life to forgive and save you, and to become the Lord of your life. You can ask Him right where you are right now.
