NYC is expecting up to around 36 inches of snow between tomorrow and Tuesday, and it is under a blizzard warning. Snow during this blizzard of 2015 is expected to fall at a rate of 2 to 4 inches per hour. The record snowfall for New York City is 26.9 inches, which fell on Feb. 12-13, 2006.
Travel is already being affected along the East coast. Some airlines are canceling flights. Delta has already canceled 600 flights.
People can expect traffic jams going home from work. If at all possible, people should keep off the roads tomorrow and Tuesday, giving the snowplows opportunity to clear the roads. Drivers who do venture out should carry emergency kits – just to be on the safe side.
