David, also called the sweet Psalmist of Israel, enjoyed more than anything being in the house of the Lord. Going to the house of the Lord, the Tabernacle in his case, was not just a duty to him, but it was a real joy.
David looked at it as being one of the greatest privileges and pleasures that he could have. Notice in the verse, that even the thought of being able to go with others to worship God thrilled him.
Too often I meet people who claim to be Christians, but they have no joy in fellowshipping with other believers. Something is wrong. They do not have the love for God like David had.
This servant of God was glad to be around the One who redeemed him. He was thankful. He also knew that being in God's presence brought him great joy.
Today, like Adam in the Garden (Genesis 3), many seem to be running away from God. They are afraid that they will be confronted with their sins and shortcomings. They also seem to be afraid that God might want them to do something they don't want to do.
I hope and pray that if you are a believer in our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ that you will go to church today. If not this morning, find a church to go to tonight. Get in the habit of it – and find afresh the joy that David had.
