The book of Job is believed to be the first book of the Bible to be written. He is believed to have lived around the time of Moses – approximately 1520 BC.
The amazing thing about this book is the spiritual truths that Job understood. The above verses reveal some of them. They include:
1. He knew he needed a Redeemer – and that He was alive at the time.
"I know that my redeemer liveth"
2. He knew that he needed a Redeemer
"my Redeemer"
3. He knew that his Redeemer would be alive in the end times
"and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth"
4. He knew that His Redeemer would reign in the latter times
“stand at the latter day upon the earth" (“stand” in Heb. means to rise up as a conqueror)
5. He knew his body would die and be corrupted in the grave
"after my skin worms destroy this body"
6. He knew that he would be raised again - alive and with flesh - physical death is not final
"yet in my flesh shall I see God"
7. He knew that he would one day see God
"Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another"
This testimony is most amazing. These truths were given by revelation from God – except #5, which refers to a natural process. In these verses, Job clearly speaks of a personal resurrection – and a bodily one.
Job's confidence indicates that not only would he see God, but on that day he implies that God will accept him. Let me ask you, dear reader, do you know that God will accept you on that day?
In the last post, it was revealed that Christ must be "received" in order to be saved and go to Heaven. A specific decision to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior must be made in order to receive forgiveness, salvation, and sonship.
This Biblical truth has not changed over the Millennia! God said it. He will not change His mind! Will you believe it? If you have not made that decision yet - why not do it right now?
