The son of the Hezbollah commander was Jihad Mughniyeh. He was considered to be one of the top Hezbollah officials who have died since 2012 in Syria.
Another senior Hezbollah commander was also killed in the attack, Mohammed Issa. There was also an Iranian from the Revolutionary Guards.
The group, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in Britain, stated that the fighters were gathered together to discuss attacks on the Israeli-controlled border. Some of them were driving a vehicle near the Israel border to inspect positions in the area. They were hit by rockets launched by helicopters.
This past Thursday, the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, announced that their rockets could now hit any point in Israel. Even though an airstrike by Israel has killed several very important Hezbollah fighters in Syria today, a Lebanese political analyst said that because Hezbollah is busy training troops to fight in Syria, they may not do anything in return.
