The last week saw 168 new cases in the capital city of Freetown, Sierra Leone. The number of new cases continues to rise and it is widespread.
An aspect of the battle against Ebola not being done in Sierra Leone is isolating those infected with the disease. At present, there are only 13 percent of them who are isolated, compared to a 72 percent rate in Guinea. WHO is working with the country and has a goal of trying to get as many as 70 percent of them into isolation.
Sierra Leone has seen as many as 1,250 die since the outbreak began. Among them were seven doctors. Liberia is seeing stabilization, but new cases continue to occur.
