Those who received His message and truth found real joy and comfort in His forgiveness and spiritual healing. This was His greatest gift – even much greater than physical healing. Those who were healed did die later, but those who received eternal life will live forever.
Christ invited all to come to Him for salvation. If they were burdened by their sin and wanted deliverance from the guilt and weight of it, they could find deliverance in Him. Christ’s invitation is found in Mt. 11:28-30 where He said: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Sometimes people feel that they are too sinful to come to Jesus. They feel that they have committed too many sins. Jesus, however, never placed a limit on who could come. In fact, He invites every sinner to come and get the forgiveness they need and want. He promised that "him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (Jn. 6:37).
Jesus died to pay for all sins on the cross. This was God's great plan of redemption. Because He paid the debt, you can go free and go to Heaven when you die.
If you believe that the Lord Jesus died for your sins, then He invites you to come to Him and ask for His forgiveness. He wants to save you – ask Him to do it. If you are serious about turning from your sin and want to serve God, then you can go to Him right now in prayer and "ye shall find rest unto your souls."
