This same principle is true when it comes to having a relationship with God. When you disagree with Him, it is easy to justify avoiding the Bible, church, and Christians. I mentioned yesterday about having peace with God. No one can have peace with God until they are in agreement with Him. The Bible tells us in Amos 3:3: "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"
God is eternal and makes no mistakes. This includes all of His actions and decisions and laws. They are perfect and cannot be improved. When people have a problem with God it is never a good thing. Disagreeing with God is a no-win situation - nothing good will ever come out of it.
Because He loves you, He always wants what is best for you. Salvation is obtained by confessing sin – that means that you agree with Him that you have sinned and broken His law. Confession must be made directly to Him - not through any human.
When you admit that you have sinned and deserve God's wrath, and believe that Christ alone will save you (not your good works), then He will save you instantly. You see, He paid the penalty for your sin on the Cross. Trusting His payment completely leaves you with forgiveness and nothing to pay – but gratitude for His salvation will certainly lead you to want to serve Him the rest of your days and enjoy His presence.
