In a day when there are many threats to your health and mine, it can be very comforting to know that our Savior is always with us. Coronavirus and the flu are the peak threats at this time, but God knows about them both.
While some people teach that you can lose your salvation, this verse denies that teaching. He is always present – but believers may not always be conscious of His blessed presence. Even though He dwells within, as He promised, there may be times when we feel like Job, who said in Job 23:3: "Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!"
There are other times – very blessed ones – when we definitely sense His presence and can enjoy fellowshipping with Him! Those occasions produce joy in the heart and a spring in the step.
Still, other times we are in the valley and do not know which way to turn or what to do. He is still there! He has not forsaken you. Remember, though, that sometimes not sensing His presence is because of sin. Sin grieves the Holy Spirit. That sweet fellowship can quickly be restored if confession is made with the intent to forsake it (I Jn. 1:9).
His presence proves that He wants to fellowship with you, whether you are aware of it or not. You are one of His children. If you do not sense His presence and joy today, He invites you to come and get that fellowship restored. Why not do it now?
