Uranium-238 is an element that could easily be used to make a dirty bomb. Although not nuclear, the uranium in a dirty bomb is added to the explosives to spread contamination.
The police participated in a sting operation last week where they found about seven ounces of Uranium-238. They also found mercury.
Since 2010, the IAEA has stated that there have been more than 100 occurrences of theft involving radioactive materials. A dirty bomb is much more likely to be the weapon a terrorist would use, rather than an actual nuclear bomb.
Comment: By now, there can be no doubt that terrorists have a considerable amount of uranium for their dirty bombs.
