Some of those who saw it said it looked like a "big, bright, shooting star." One driver (at least), a TV reporter, was able to catch it on a dash cam.
The Sheriff's Department of Maverick County reported that the ground was shaking due to a meteor strike. It occurred around 8:45pm. Many other people have confirmed it as well.
Comment: To me, it seems like we are seeing more reports and videos of meteorites than ever before. Each time, I am reminded of how meteorites will create a lot of damage during the Tribulation period. The Bible also talks about a couple of massive strikes on earth in Revelation 8:8,10:
"And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters."
As the Bible tells us, it will create an incredible amount of damage when it happens. It seems to me that what we are seeing now is a reminder and a warning that it is coming. Evidences of meteorite strikes can be seen on our planet in various places.
Knowing Christ in salvation is the way to escape it this terrible period of time. This requires turning from sin to God and asking Him to save you through what His Son did for you on the cross. If you call on Him with a simple salvation prayer, and are serious about serving Him, He will answer.
