The man, 20-year old John Booker, a.k.a. Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, wanted to join the Army just for the purpose of killing U.S. soldiers. He wanted to wage jihad.
Booker reported on Facebook where to talked about his jihad. Afterwards, he signed up for the Army and was supposed to enter boot camp a month later. He was denied entry into the Army.
Once again, in October 2014, he posted he wanted a jihad. He worked with two informants who were "helping" him to get the explosives he needed. Of course, it was fake, and he only learned it would not work when he tried to detonate it outside the Army base, and was arrested.
A second man, Alexander E. Blair, 28, has also been arrested. He knew about the potential bombing and did not report it.
