The Kurds took six buildings that were held by ISIS, and 13 ISIS fighters were killed in the attack. When they looked into the buildings, they found a large weapons cache. There were weapons such as rocket-propelled grenade launchers, guns, and ammunition for machine guns.
Just last week, the Kurds were able to cut off a supply route to ISIS fighters in the city. Now that they have found some of their weapons already in the city, things may – hopefully – start to wind down, but it is too soon to tell the effect.
The ISIS still holds about 50 percent of Kobani in its control. Two senior ISIS fighters were killed when the buildings were captured.
