At least 10 homes were knocked down and about 22 people have been injured. The quake measured magnitude 6.8 and struck around 10:00pm. 21 people were trapped under their homes, and two were injured. All of them have been rescued.
Because the quake occurred inland, there was no possibility of a tsunami. It did result in blocked roadways from landslides, and water mains were ruptured, leaving people without water. The main quake was followed by 21 aftershocks.
Nothing unusual was reported at any of the nuclear reactor sites. Fukushima is about 150 miles away. All of Japan's reactors are still offline because of the Fukushima disaster.
