This particular gas field, Sha'ar, has seen its share of conflict since July. It has changed hands four times since then.
When Sha'ar was first taken over by ISIS, that terrorist organization killed about 350 government troops and others. It is not yet known how many were killed on either side this time.
Gas and oil fields are important to ISIS because they sell it to fund their evil empire. Also, it is important to produce energy to the country who owns it.
