So far, only three bodies have been recovered – one male and two females. Some bodies are floating in the water. The aircraft is about 6 miles from where it was first believed to have entered the water.
The United States is sending a second ship to the area, the USS Fort Worth. It will assist in recovery work.
Bad weather is hindering rescue work. Night has also come, so rescue work will have to continue tomorrow. If there are calmer seas, rescue teams will be able to continue work with the lighting they have – even after dark.
The plans indicate that the largest piece of the plane will be brought up tonight.
